Shipbuilder FAIRLINE

FAIRLINE BOATS was a British manufacturer of luxury motor yachts. Started in 1963 by Jack Newington, the company built motor yachts in Oundle, Northamptonshire. The business began when Newington purchased a series of gravel pits on the River Nene. His first model came later, the Oundle marina. In 1967 he launched the first Fairline boat, a 5.8-meter fiberglass river cruise ship. When Newington's son Sam took over in 1971, the company employed 14 people. Sam expanded the company's overseas sales network to take advantage of the expanding Mediterranean market, resulting in the company employing 140 people in 1979 and generating over £ 5million, with an increased production by the success of the Fairline 40 model of 1977. The company grew in the 1980s by launching lines of high-speed cruising yachts. On September 29, 2015, Fairline Boats was purchased by Wessex Bristol. In January 2016, Alexander Volov and Igor Glyanenko, Russian businessmen based in the UK, purchased the assets of Fairline Boats. The manufacturer now offers 3 ranges of models: the Squadron range hold out motor yachts ranging from 15 to 18.5 meters, the FLine flybridges for dayboats and the Targa with pleasure yachts ranging from 13 to 20 meters in length. long. Each year Fairline is awarded for its high quality and ever more innovative pleasure yachts. The FLine 33 received in 2020 the European Power Boat Of The Year and the MotorBoat Awards.
