PALMER JOHNSON was founded in 1918 by boat builders Hans Johnson and Herman Gmack. Its headquarters are located in the Great Lakes region of the United States at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The shipyard was mainly known for building high quality wooden sailboats. To date Palmer Johnson specializes in building high performance yachts and superyachts up to 82 meters in length. In 1961, American entrepreneur Pat Haggerty, founder of Texas Instruments, bought luxury yacht builder Palmer Johnson. Over the next four decades, the shipyard developed innovative technology for building motor yachts and aluminum sailboats. The year 1979 marked a first achievement, the yard launched the aluminum motor yacht Fortuna of 30.48 meters, built for King Juan Carlos of Spain. The 46-knot superyacht remained the fastest in the world for over a decade. In 2012 the shipyard announced a new series of carbon fiber SuperSport performance superyachts that gives birth to a new feat. In 2015, the first PJ 48M SuperSport, Khalilah was issued, the largest carbon composite luxury yacht of the era, with a top speed of 32 knots. In 2018, Palmer Johnson celebrates his 100th birthday with the arrival of the new 210 SportYacht At A Glance, 64 meters in length. The builder is present every year at the biggest boat shows in the world, it also has showrooms in Fort Lauderdale and Monaco. FROLSON is a specialist in the insurance of Palmer Johnson yachts. We will be happy to advise you to give you the best possible insurance terms for your vessel.
