Shipbuilder LURSSEN

LURSSEN is a German shipyard, founded by Friedrich Lürssen in 1885. Friedrich Lürssen, got his start in building fast and light racing rowboats. In 1886, inventor Gottlieb Daimler commissioned Lürssen to design and build a boat for his new engine, which led to the creation of the very first motorboat and the start of a new industry. Lürssen's streak of achievement continued, with the world's fastest commuter yacht in 1927 and setting the world speed record in 1939. Lürssen very quickly became one of the world's leading mega-yacht builders. Its head office is in Bremen-Vegesack, it also has five other shipyards in northern Germany. Its shipyards have grown several times since their creation, they are currently divided into three areas of activity, to meet all the needs of its customers. The first section is reserved for the construction of warships and special vessels; the second is intended for the construction of super and mega luxury yachts, 40 to 150 meters long; the last section, Lürssen Logistic, focuses on the management, repair and maintenance of yachts. The Lürssen yacht fleet includes several iconic models and names. Such as the 115m Pelorus, 155m Al Said, 100m Martha Ann. As well as the largest private yacht in the world named Azzam 180m launched in 2013. In 2018, the Lürssen shipyard suffered the biggest disaster in its history when a 100-meter yacht caught fire in the Aumund shipyard. A claim valued at nearly $ 700 million that rocked the yacht insurance market. More recently, the builder delivered the 141-meter North mega yacht, launched in 2021. Lürssen Yachts offer their customers unparalleled, world-class quality, no expense is spared in their design and construction. FROLSON is an insurance specialist for super and megayachts. We will be happy to advise you to give you the best possible insurance terms for your vessel.
